A Survey on the Use of Health Preparation of Seoul Citizens

Abstract

A survey conducted from Marchl to May 31, 1965, on the use of health preparations by the citizens of Seoul using approximately 400 sample families including 2,500 permanent residents of Seoul, has brought forth the following conclusion.
1) A total of 43 different health preparations were found to bo used, and the older the greater variety of preparations were used. Among the most widely-used preparations were "Vita-amin." "Hemoglon" and "Wonkiso."
2) The average expenses per user of health preparations was 364 Won and the average expenses per resident surveyed was 44 Won. The expenses was higher for those with higher education, and those with a monthly income of 20,001 to 50,000 Won and salaried men were found to be using more health preparations than other class residents.
3) As for morbiditiy during the period of using health preparations, respiratory and intesitnal diseases were more frequent.
